A particular type of family and medical leave is what is known as Pregnancy Disability Leave. Employees who are disabled by pregnancy, childbirth or a related condition are entitled to four months of protected leave.

This leave isprotected by the California Pregnancy Disability Leave Law (“PDLL”) as well as the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (“FEHA”). Employers cannot infringe on an employee’s right to four months of leave under the PDLL.
